Oct. 28\u201329, 2023 Nov. 17\u201318, 2023 Underground is an experimental contemporary dance work exploring youth, uncertainty, and the edge of self-awareness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Underground<\/strong> brings together electronic music, the sheng<\/em> (Chinese mouth organ), and physical theatre to construct a hybrid performance language.<\/p>\n The term \u201cexosphere\u201d<\/em> refers to the outermost layer of Earth\u2019s atmosphere\u2014a transitional zone closest to outer space, farthest from human reach, and no longer bound by gravity.<\/p>\n Drawing inspiration from this astronomical concept, the work reflects on young people who carry the dreams of youth while facing an overwhelming array of choices and an uncertain future.<\/p>\n Behind the noise and brilliance of endless possibilities lie lingering feelings of confusion, emptiness, and solitude.<\/p>\n Underground<\/em> invites the audience to enter this metaphorical exosphere\u2014to coexist with loneliness and to reconstruct self-awareness.Through the crossing of dance movement and electronic sound, the work seeks a shared space of searching\u2014together.<\/p>\n<\/div>
